Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of our frequently asked questions.

Can I have adaptations fitted to my Motability car?

Yes, you can have adaptations fitted to your Motability car. Please call us for details & advice.

How much will adaptations cost?

Costs vary depending on the type of adaptations for your requirements. We can give you a quote based on these.

Which types of car are suitable for car adaptations?

Although MPV’s, 4x4s, estates and hatchbacks are the best types of car for adaptations, many adaptations can be carried out on most vehicles. We can advise on all types of vehicle adaptations that are bespoke for each individual disability and that are suitable for specific vehicles.

Will my car be usable by other drivers?

Many of the mobility products can be easily removed when the car is being driven by an able-bodied driver. The twin flip left foot accelerator can be switched to sit either to the left or the right of the brake pedal, so both drivers with disabilities and able-bodied drivers can drive the car. Steering wheel knobs and balls can be easily removed when the car is being driven by an able-bodied driver.

How can I see the available adaptations before I buy?

We have several demonstration vehicles, to enable our clients to easily understand the benefits of the various car adaptations and how they can facilitate easy and effortless transportation, and improve quality of life. Contact us to arrange a demonstration tailored to meet your needs.

Can I adjust my steering column after the hand controls have been fitted?

No, by adjusting the steering column you may affect the function of the brake/accelerator hand control. The standard set-up when fitting hand controls is for the steering wheel to be at its highest position and fully out (towards the driver), this gives maximum space for the push/pull brake/accelerator lever.

Where can I get driving lessons in an adapted vehicle?
